In keeping with the Convention theme of "Found in Translation: Living faith in New Contexts," the Psychology and Religion Section invites paper proposals that fit in either of two categories. First, psychology has very obvious European roots, but not here alone. We look forward to proposals which explore the religiously connected development of psychologies (or their near equivalent) in non-European contexts or which critique Euro-centric psychological perspectives from such contexts.
The second category of proposals would consider how psychology has contributed to or allowed for the translation of religious experience into a linguistic content that can be observed, shared, and analyzed. Proposals that explore dimensions of gender, racial, ethnic, or religious multiplicity in view of religious experience are especially encouraged.
Proposals are also invited in any area of the interrelation between theology and psychology, whether practical, pastoral, or theoretical. Your proposal should be between 250 and 500 words. Submit proposals with a short biography via email to both conveners.
