The Justice and Peace section invites proposals addressing the convention's theme, "Religion, Economics, and Culture in Conflict and Conversation." Possible topics include: the relation between justice, peace, and globalization; Pope Benedict XVI's encyclical Caritas in veritate (2009); recent theological work on economics such as William T. Cavanaugh's Being Consumed: Economics and Christian Desire (Eerdmans, 2008); the upcoming silver anniversary of the U.S. Catholic Bishops' pastoral letter "Economic Justice for All" (1986); etc. Papers that relate to the theme of the convention have better prospects for getting published in the Annual Volume of the College Theology Society. Nevertheless, other proposals relating to themes of justice and peace that are not directly related to the convention's theme, including proposals that deal with pedagogy and teaching, are also welcome.
